Update…. 3/27/2003

Happy Birthday Baby John Dean

1 Month old

Baby John is a month old.
Not much change for Baby John.He has not yet had his surgery. The doctors do not feel he is stable enough for surgery as it will be very hard for him.It is very complex to explain. The surgery will be a very big step to recovery but it could also be a set back if he is not strong enough. He will become sicker after surgery because of replacement of the intestines. It is more important that he is strong enough and his Blood Gases,a measurement of the amount of carbon dioxide, oxygen, and acid in the blood. These measurements are needed to determine the amount of oxygen and ventilator support that a patient needs.
They say it can take up to two mouths before he has surgery.

X-rays shows he (does) have a full left lung but intestine are crowding lung and heart. Baby John is opening his eyes and playing Peek-A-boo at a : ).He had not before this. I spent the day with Baby John and he opened his eyes and seemed to be taking it all in. He listened to Grandma gab on and on.
He even tried to cry out. He can sure give some dirty looks at a ; ).We are seeing many good signs.Baby John wants to wake up. He is acting like new born babies act. He is a strong little angel.

Chastity (Mommy)is being strong and praying much. She stays by Baby John side as much as she can. Please Pray with Chastity that the Lord will permit her to keep Baby John for as long as she can. I just talked to Chastity....Mommy. She told me that Baby John's Oxygenation is at 21 percent and this is good....Very good. It needs to stay at 21 for surgery for a few days. Perhaps Friday 3/28 they can do surgery. Please help us with prayer. I am a Firm believer that Prayer works. I hope to have better news on our next update. Peace to all and Thank-you.
